FOUNDER
 

I started out in subscriptions at the London Review of Books, rising via advertising to New York office head. Becoming IAB certified I moved to The Nation as an Associate Publisher and now run Martialed Artists as an independent consultant. I hold BA and MA degrees in Literary and Cultural Studies from the University of Lancaster in the U.K.

The concept for Martialed Artists came about while I was struggling to reconcile the demands of commercial and editorial practice as the business model for quality journalism continued to founder globally. My personal practice of HapKiDo helped me reflect on an holistic approach, rather than the antagonistic duality of content and clicks dominating and degrading the industry. 

Applying this gentle but powerful perspective, Martialed Artists was conceived to help see the advantage in every aspect of any truly creative endeavor.
